Of Tequila, Rain and a "Safe" trip.

The moment you land at the airport, walking on the tarmac and the warm sun hits your face. It feels like home.
That familiarity of the arrival hall and the smell of the salty breeze.
Hopping into our car and driving straight to Chenang.
Once there, our first stop will always be at The Duty Free Zon before doing anything else.
The thought of first picking up that RM 2.50 cold, cold beer, cracking it open and imagining yourself never being happier at that moment.
Happiness also came from taking long peaceful drives around the island.
And feeling the soft sand in between your toes, battling the waves in the sea & looking up at the vast skies.
All while enjoying more cold beer with the guys under a hut when it started raining on the beach.
Then having a cool evening dip in the pool and ending up in a beer stake water fight.
Visiting Sunba, Tammy's & Chillout on our nights out.
Finding a new drinking spot that has beer jugs for cheap.
Then spending alot of quality drinking time at this new spot be it morning, afternoon or night.
Having our usual lunch & suppers at Tomato & stopping at Petronas Jetty for the only KFC on the island.
Still sneaking into the beautiful Mutiara Bay beach after all these years.
Not before having to take a nap in the car while waiting for the rain to subside so that we can hit the beach.
Still getting our directions wrong getting into Kuah Town to our fav liquor store and Chinese hawker center for lunch.
Although having it rained for all three days till the day we left, it did not dampened the serenity of this whole trip.
Last but not least, of tequila, self shot timers, 9 Lives, not remembering what happened on the last night & the not so pretty hangovers the next day that last long and well.
And as usual, we promise of never drinking again but the lingering thought that we will be back again next year, just the same, just as perfect as it is because that's living our kind of life.
In the end, this island has so much beautiful memories still, too much perhaps.
